Love is in the air and your character is stepping out with their beau!  Describe their first date using free verse!

    So unwilling to be
    Broken
    Fleeting
    Oh-so-brief
    Smiles, smiling
    Talk
    Uncertain in her
    Jagged little thoughts
    Jagged little mind
    Little jagged paper heart
    So unwilling to
    Give in
    Peripheral
    Vision, a flicker
    Words
    Growing in her
    Jagged little thoughts
    Jagged little mind
    Little jagged paper heart
    So unwilling to
    Be loved
    To love
    Mercury
    Seething, a continuum
    Of infidelity
    Hiding
    Darling, don’t you know?
    Maybe
    Pulsing in her
    Jagged little thoughts
    Jagged little mind
    Little jagged paper heart
    So unwilling to
    Trust
    And yet
    And yet, and yet…
    She does.
    She tries.
    She tried her hardest
    It was never enough
    Until now
    A tiny possibility
    A seedling in her
    Jagged little thoughts
    Jagged little mind
    Little jagged paper heart.
