Righto people - our main theme is going to be 'Doors and Windows' - so the sky is the limit as long as it's around that theme.  Deadline is 29th November - enjoy writing!

  1. Golden wisps of sunlight shine through me onto the perky little faces of this year’s reception class, with their brand-new, over-sized school uniforms and bulky ‘book bags’. It’s great living in a school, especially one like this, only 3 years old with caring, friendly students, and gentle cleaners. I felt sorry for some of my old friends at the glazier, who ended up in factories, and on council houses, they would disappear and then we’d see stories in the newspaper about burned down houses, and mobs that smash windows. I felt sorry for them, and always hoped against hope that I wouldn’t come to the same fate. Luckily, I ended up here. I love watching the sun go down at night when the kids and staff have all gone home, and I love to keep an eye on the wildlife that roams the pathways and alleys around the school. When the sun comes up and the little 5 year olds waddle into class with their over-protective parents, I’m excited to see a new day unfold before me. But at the end of the year, I’m sad to see them go, and the 6 weeks in summer are agonizingly slow. All I have to keep me occupied is talking to my next-door neighbours Pamela and Ashley, and Pamela just bugs me, she’s one for gossip, and she can’t keep her mouth shut, all I ever hear from her is ‘Oi, Winston, guess what?’ and then I tune out. And Ashley’s not much fun, he wallows in his own solitude, never talks, and never listens.
